Here are a few appreciation posts, from 2020 Summer Associates, shared via LinkedIn.

In addition to providing these interns hands-on media experience, at the conclusion of the 2020 Summer Associates program, Hearst offered to provide its graduating seniors career coaching to assist them with their job search. Hearst enlisted members of its Talent Acquisition team to act as “TA Coaches”. These coaches provided graduating associates with tips on how to best navigate their career search, best practices for updating their resumes and LinkedIn profiles and how to prepare for interviews.

Hearst also participated in the 2020 Summer Series hosting two sessions; one on time management and the other on designing a marketing/pitch deck.

In the Time Management session, Daré Saliu-Ibiefo, Director of Talent Development at Hearst Corporation, provided talent pool members with tips and resources on how to effectively manage their time. He discussed the difference between switchtasking and multi-tasking and emphasized strategies to help participants work smarter not harder.

“I really appreciated the switchtasking exercise as it really drove the speaker’s point.” *

In the session on how to build and design a marketing deck Cathy Mevs, Vice President, Strategy and Niko Dahilig, Creative Director of iCrossing, a Hearst Company, provides talent pool members with insights on how to effectively develop a strategy, presentation, and design that brings a pitch to life.

A total of 88 talent pool members participated in this webinar.

“Great presentation, from the content to how it was presented to the PowerPoint itself. The process for their Naked campaign was very insightful and interesting. Thank you for setting this up!”*

Hearst also hosted a Case Competition during the 2020 Summer Series. Teams of students worked together to come up with a strategy to address a business challenge presented by Hearst. Each team formally presented their solution to Hearst representatives virtually.

A Hearst Case Competition participant had the following to say about the experience…

“ I believe this was an amazing learning opportunity. Thank you so much to all of the T. Howard team!”

Hearst also participated in the 2020 Meet & Greet Networking Event as a Premium Sponsor. Seven recruiters signed-on to conduct one-on-one video interviews and educate talent pool members about its various divisions and professional opportunities. Information about the company was also shared via its Sponsor page and a scrolling banner (as seen in the photo) on the event app and through its Welcome Room, a virtual meeting space that facilitated impromptu, group networking with members of its team.

“The event was great! It definitely gave me some time to know more companies and the company culture more by talking with them and meeting them. I have made some connections, which is very helpful! Much appreciated for the opportunity…”*
