2021 Diamond Diversity Partner Spotlight: Hearst

The Foundation thanks Hearst,
a 2021 Diamond Diversity Partner and Board Member,
for its continued support.

A 5-year Partnership

A long standing partner, Hearst affirmed its commitment to advancing diversity in media and entertainment by joining the Foundation’s Board of Directors in January 2021. Hearst also increased its financial support of the Foundation’s programs by upgrading its Diversity Partnership. This is Hearst’s 5th year as a Diversity Partner.

Event & Program Marketing Support

Hearst created the visual identity for Now Streaming, the 2021 Intern Orientation. Hearst also assisted with the design of a new brochure promoting the T. Howard Foundation’s Diversity Partner Program. Thanks to Hearst’s support, the Foundation was able to refresh, unify and create greater brand recognition around these two programs.

THF Internship Orientation

Hearst hosted Now Trending: State of the Media Industry Panel during the 2021 Internship Orientation. The discussion provided interns with an understanding of the trends and technological advancements associated with the media industry as well as the importance of adaptability in an ever-changing industry and in maintaining one’s competitive advantage.

A 2021 summer intern had the following to say about the virtual internship orientation…

“The T. Howard does a great job of preparing us by supplying resources and knowledge that we otherwise wouldn’t have access to.”

2021 Virtual Meet & Greet Networking Event

Hearst also participated in the Foundation’s 2021 virtual Meet & Greet Networking Event as a Diamond Sponsor.

Earl Ferguson, Director of Talent Acquisition, provided Meet & Greet candidates with a 3-minute overview of Hearst Corporation.

25 Candidates engaged with Hearst’s Content (Sponsor Profile, Welcome Room, Banner Ad) on the Meet & Greet app.

The results are in…

93% of candidates reported gaining more confidence when approaching recruiters

72% of candidates left the event knowing about more opportunities within the entertainment and media industries

Company representatives were impressed by the quality of candidates and resumes. A number had three or more connections for interviews following the event.
