The Anthem Awards was launched in response to the prevalence social good has taken within the national conversation and cultural zeitgeist in recent years. The inaugural competition received nearly 2,500 entries from 36 countries worldwide. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities.
“The Foundation is honored to be recognized for our virtual diversity awards event,” said Jo Pamphile, President & CEO of THF. “In 2020, our in-person event had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, so we pivoted to our first ever virtual event. We recognized and celebrated industry leaders and companies committed to increasing diversity and inclusion in the industry. The event and celebration were highly regarded and well-received.”
THF’s VP, Operations and Development Sarah Giannakopoulos explained, “Our main goal was to connect with our interns, colleges and universities and partner companies to honor all of their hard work in the midst of a global pandemic. And while we couldn’t be together in person, we felt compelled to gather virtually and celebrate and we were thrilled with the outpouring of support for the Foundation and the virtual event.”
Winners for the inaugural Anthem Awards were celebrated at the first annual Anthem Voices virtual conference as well as at a star-studded virtual Awards Show on February 28, 2022. “We launched this platform to show the world that all corners of our culture, from sports and entertainment to business leaders and celebrities, are all standing up to say, it is time for systemic change and that social good is what we value as a society,” said Jessica Lauretti, Managing Director, The Anthem Awards.
