Amina Smith

Amina is an anchor for SportsCenter and contributes to the flagship show’s 2pm and weekend editions.

Smith previously served as a multi-platform host and on-air talent with NBC Sports Boston, where she covered the New England Patriots and hosted flagship programming for the Boston Celtics. In 2022, Smith’s exceptional work earned her a New England Emmy for Outstanding Sports Programming – Live as the host of Patriots Pregame Live.

Her broadcasting career began in 2010 while she was a student at the University of South Carolina. A former track athlete, she worked with SGTV, the school’s student-run station, covering football and women’s basketball. In 2012, she transferred to the University of Miami, where she continued to hone her skills in various production and on-air roles for networks such as NBC, ESPNU, FOX, and her campus station UMTV.

After graduating, Smith’s career trajectory took her to 6 News in Lawrence, Kansas. She then progressed into prominent sports roles with FOX Sports, Big Ten Network, BET Networks, and Stadium Sports, where she had significant on-air roles covering college football and the NBA.

Amina graduated from the University of Miami in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
