Alumni Spotlight: Michael Asmelash

Michael Asmelash (THF ’11) (THF ’12) Integrated Marketing Manager, Global Diversity at Meta, has been named the T. Howard Foundation’s 2021 “Career Influencer”. The Career Influencer distinction recognizes THF alumni – who are more seasoned in their careers – for their outstanding career achievements and their commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission by paying it forward. Michael will be recognized at the 2021 Diversity Awards Dinner on Tuesday, September 28th where he will deliver brief remarks.

A two-time T. Howard Foundation alum, Michael is an award-winning and results-driven marketing leader.

Michael is currently an Integrated Marketing Manager, Global Diversity at Meta, and leads the strategic development and management of purpose-driven, integrated marketing campaigns catered to diverse audiences, all while championing Meta as a desirable place to work. Michael has amassed nearly a decade of creative and marketing experience with global industry powerhouses, including Calvin Klein, NBCUniversal, and Live Nation Entertainment. Outside of work, Michael volunteers with D.E.I. organizations, including the T. Howard Foundation and is passionately committed to developing equitable opportunities at scale for BIPOC.

Michael credits the culturally diverse and inclusive opportunities afforded to him for fueling his interest and desire in storytelling, media, and community.
