Alumni Spotlight: Giovanna Noguera

Giovanna Noguera (THF ’16) Advanced Targeting Planner at Discovery Inc., has been named the T. Howard Foundation’s 2021 “Rising Star.” The Rising Star distinction recognizes THF alumni for their outstanding early-career achievements and their commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission by paying it forward. Giovanna will be recognized at the 2021 Diversity Awards Dinner on Tuesday, September 28th where she will deliver brief remarks.

Giovanna Noguera supports Discovery Inc.’s Data Driven Linear product, Engage, as an Advanced Targeting Planner. She develops highly targeted media plans across Discovery Inc.’s vast portfolio for Magna and PMX. On her day to day she supports nine Account Executives and oversees a team of 14 Sales Assistants across the New York and Chicago offices.

Prior to working at Discovery, she began her career as an intern at IPG Mediabrands and Turner thanks to the support of the T. Howard Foundation Internship program. After graduating she took a year off to determine her true passions. During that time she became the Marketing Co-Chair for the NAMIC NY Chapter, an alumni of the FUTURE NOW Media Foundation, & the Social Media Manager for FUTURE NOW. She realized her true passions are helping others, spreading access to information, and content. All her hard work during her “year off” helped her land a contract role as a Sales Assistant at Discovery Inc., which transitioned to a full time role. On her 1 year anniversary she officially began her current role as an Advanced Targeting Planner.

She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the FUTURE NOW Media Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to building the future leaders of the media & entertainment industry via access to information, mentorship, and training. Serves as a volunteer for NAMIC NY.

She is an alumna of the Rutgers Newark Cross Country & Track program. She earned her B.S. in Marketing from Rutgers Newark Business School and her A.S. from Hudson County Community College.
