Our Host Company is seeking an IT professional for their Network Operations Center to be responsible for the day-to-day activities that occur on a GOC shift, including real-time monitoring of the production network equipment, servers, and circuits using various monitoring tools. Perform administrative and troubleshooting functions on production network applications, equipment, servers, and circuits. Track, document, and escalate as appropriate, incidents via trouble ticketing system and escalation procedure.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production network in real-time
  • Addition of new monitors and metrics gathering when required
  • Manage incident resolution process for network and server issues
  • Perform day-to-day administration of systems accounts for Active Directory, Lotus Notes, and numerous globally deployed business applications
  • Manage system security as pertains to system accounts and data access
  • Manage network printer queues, drivers, and firmware
  • Respond to calls for service, trouble tickets, and customer requests
  • Manage and coordinate production outages
  • Coordinate escalation process to third-party vendors
  • Implement, or assist with implementation of, changes to production network infrastructure or server equipment
  • Provide oversight to the Release Management process in monitoring and updating the status of network and server devices
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the GOC Knowledge Base
  • Assist in the development, organization, and management of standard operating procedures
  • Administer GOC assigned applications in a primary or secondary administrator, on a rotating basis, functioning as point of contact and escalation point
  • Work closely with regional IT staff to ensure success of daily operations
  • Other tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience providing of administrative and troubleshooting support in the areas of Windows 2003/2000 Server, Unix/Linux servers, and LAN/WAN equipment in an enterprise production environment
  • 1+ years of Lotus Notes/Domino experience
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Exchange Server experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or have equivalent work experience
  • Understand and be able to work with monitoring systems and related technologies
  • Able to work without supervision, combining initiative with discretion
  • Strong customer service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate technical matters to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able to provide detailed documentation of actions as they occur
  • Experience in a NOC (Network Operations Center) environment
  • Flexibility to work evening, weekend, and overnight shifts
